Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)

Nearly 80,000 engineers, business executives, educators, and students from more than 97 countries form the network of membership who share information and exchange ideas for advancing the engineering of mobility systems. More than 16,000 volunteer leaders serve on the Board of Directors and the many other boards, councils and committees. The technical committees write more new aerospace and automotive engineering standards than any other standards-writing organization in the world. They publish thousands of technical papers and books each year, and leading-edge periodicals and Internet and CD-ROM products too. Our Cooperative Research Program helps facilitate projects that benefit the mobility industry as a whole. Numerous meetings and exhibitions provide worldwide opportunities to network and share information. They also offer a full complement of professional development activities such as seminars, workshops, and continuing education programs. The meetings and activities of local sections provide an opportunity to network with colleagues near you.

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)

The IEEE ("eye-triple-E") helps advance global prosperity by promoting the engineering process of creating, developing, integrating, sharing, and applying knowledge about electrical and information technologies and sciences for the benefit of humanity and the profession.

Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS America)

The mission of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) is to foster public/private partnerships to increase the safety and efficiency of surface transportation through the application of advanced technologies. ITS America was mandated by the U.S. Congress in 1991 to coordinate the development and deployment of intelligent transportation systems in the United States.

ITS America continues to fulfill this public/private partnership role. In doing so, we recognize that state and local government, consumers and industry are the owners, operators, users, and suppliers of intelligent transportation systems, and are the effort's major players. Our members participate in on-going research, planning, standards development, deployment and marketing of ITS programs, products and services.
