Morris
L. Kindig
Mr. Kindig,
President, is the founder of TIER ONE. Prior to TIER ONE he was Director
of Automotive Electronics and Manager of Consulting Services at Dataquest.
In 1991 he acquired Dataquest's Automotive Electronic Industry
Study, database and library. He is responsible for the general
management of the company, international marketing, custom research
and venture technologies. He is a frequent speaker; author and often
quoted spokesman on industry related issues. And, has been instrumental
in developing database and econometric forecast models. He has been
in corporate management and marketing for over thirty years. Mr. Kindig's
background includes market research as well as product development
/ financial / business consulting in the areas of automotive systems
and electronics, wiring interconnection, fiber optics / optical disc
storage, medical imaging devices and semiconductor processes. He founded
Glasscrafter Tools, holds two U.S. patents and has held corporate
management positions with Dataquest, MCT, Insulation Systems, Gnostic
Concepts, Raychem. He was a member of the West Valley Community College
Curriculum Board and, has sat on the boards of four companies including
San Francisco Theatre Ballet He is an alumnus of San Diego State University,
Mechanical Engineering and Business.
Stuart
L. Harris
Mr. Harris,
Director of Market Research, Brings an extensive background in market
research, brings an extensive background in market research, electronics
and semiconductors to TIER ONE. He is responsible for primary research
and database development as well as analysis of electronic systems
and components for all automotive applications. He is also responsible
for the vehicle production forecast. Mr. Harris currently analyzes
monthly data for WSTS (Worldwide Semiconductor Trade Statistics).
For Dataquest he was a principal contributor to the 1990 Automotive
Electronics in North America Study, developing the primary database.
At National Semiconductor Corp. and American Microsystems, Inc. he
was Manager of Market Research for Semiconductors. At Gnostic Concepts
he managed or contributed to Automotive Electrical and Electronics
Market, VLSI Market Forecast, Microprocessor Market Forecast, Discrete
Semiconductor Service, US Econometric Service, Consumer Electronics
Service and Computer Industry Service. Mr. Harris has been a product
marketing engineer at Fairchild Semiconductor, Advanced Micro Devices,
Monolithic Memories, Inc. and Monsanto Opto-electronics. During his
stay in Europe he worked for CENEMESA, a Westinghouse licensee in
Spain. Mr. Harris has an MBA from Stanford University, an MSEE from
the University of Pennsylvania and a BSEE from Princeton University.
Mark
B. Woodbury
Mr. Woodbury,
Director of Occupant Safety Systems, has been active in engineering,
managerial and consulting roles with the Automotive and Aerospace
industries for over 15 years. Working with Hercules, TRW, Morton International
and Autoliv Automotive Safety Products, Mr. Woodbury was responsible
for design, development and production implementation of advanced
technology products which included Airbag Ignition Systems, Smart
Systems, and Seat Sensor-Airbag Suppression Systems. Mr. Woodbury
has had extensive interface with Asian, European and Domestic Automotive
OEMs in the capacity of engineering and program management. Mr. Woodbury
holds a BSME from the University of Utah, is a member of SAE, ASME
and has served as Chairman of the Airbag Recycle Subcommittee of the
Automotive Occupant Restraint Council, (AORC).
Myles
Kitchen
Mr. Kitchen,
Senior Research Associate, has more than 25 years experience in the
areas of automotive automotive electronics, semiconductors, and automotive
systems. Beginning in 1973 as an electronic design engineer at Motorola's
Automotive Product Division, Mr. Kitchen moved in to technical marketing
with that firm. From there, he has served as Director of Automotive
Marketing at both National Semiconductor, and Intel Corp. In addition
he was Director of Product Development and VP Marketing at Zemco Group,
an automotive OEM and aftermarket systems company. In 1986 he founded
M.H. KITCHEN & ASSOCIATES, a consulting practice serving the transportation
electronics market. He is also a minority owner of Quantic industries,
Inc. a pyrotechnics manufacturer and supplier of airbag components,
where he served as VP of Marketing. Over this period, he has been
involved with a broad set of automotive electronic products, interviewed
by the media as an expert in this field and has served as an expert
witness in cases involving Automotive Engineers, and a licensed vintage
racing driver.
